The fry bread is absolutely, hands down, the best in AZ. The staff are the happiest people I deal with at ANY food place. I'm not sure what the staff eats or drinks for breakfast but the whole world needs more of it. The red Chile is probably the customer favorite, as the green is a little more spicy. Personally I think the two together are the best. Red and green chili on plain fry bread is the perfect lunch. Price to eat lunch is less than McD's. Super reasonable, red chili $7, what you see in photo attached. Amazing food and super amazing staff. And yes you either eat outside in a dusty parking lot or in your car. Don't complain about outside because you pay half price. Great, great, great all the way around.

4/12/25 1430hrs Green Chile Fry Bread. Fast and friendly service. The food was amazing! Highly recommend visiting the stand next time you are in the neighborhood. I will definitely come back and try their Menudo. Green chili fried bread and a 12 ounce Sprite nine dollars. Support locally!

Wow, the food here is incredible. I came here straight from the airport to make sure I tried this spot and it was so worth it! Got the stand combo taco (comes with red & green chili). Tender meat, a substantial portion size, and the sauces were so flavorful with a slight kick! The outdoor seating is comfy and homey, and I loved the old timey music they played. There are other vendors around that you can browse and last but not least incredibly friendly, kind, and welcoming staff! I will absolutely be back!

The Stand Location: 3996 N Alma School Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85256 Type: Roadside Eatery Cuisine: Native American, Southwestern Known For: Navajo tacos, frybread, menudo, homemade desserts The Stand is a roadside taco stand in rural North Scottsdale, built with a tarped outdoor kitchen that adds rustic charm and authenticity. Known for serving traditional Native American frybread tacos—also called Navajo tacos—this cash-only spot is a local gem within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. I’ve been reading about this Navajo taco stand tucked along a dusty road, and The Stand did not disappoint. The character of the tarped outdoor kitchen just made every bite taste better. Portions were massive—our tacos easily became two meals. A Navajo taco is basically taco heaven: fluffy frybread topped with beans, meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. Magical. When I’m back in Scottsdale, I’m definitely stopping again. Just don’t forget to bring cash! #NavajoTaco #TheStandAZ #FrybreadLove #RoadsideEats #ScottsdaleFoodie #NativeAmericanCuisine #TacoHeaven

Fresh Flavors & Community Vibes at The Stand on Salt River First Impressions Rolling up to The Stand on the Salt River Reservation feels like stumbling onto a hidden gem. Part food stop, part community market, and 100% worth the detour. It’s casual, welcoming, and buzzing with local pride. Atmosphere & Vibe It’s more than just a food stand, it’s a mini cultural experience. Alongside the food vendors, there were pop-ups with fresh fruit, handmade jewelry, and bakery treats (shoutout to @a_and_abakes on Instagram for those goodies). There was even a pickle slush stand keeping things fun and funky. What I Tried We went all in with the Red Chili Combo Taco, the Green Chili Combo, and a classic Plain Fry Bread with powdered sugar. Everything was made fresh to order, served up hot, and packed with flavor. The chili had depth, the fry bread was crisp and chewy in all the right ways, and the sweet finish was the perfect touch. Service & Experience Quick, kind, and no-frills. The team was working efficiently, keeping the line moving without making anyone feel rushed. You could tell they cared about the food and the people; exactly the kind of energy you want when supporting local. Pro Tips or Heads-Up Bring cash just in case, some of the market stands may not take cards. And come hungry, the portions are generous, and you’ll want to try more than one thing. The vibe is super family-friendly and relaxed, so take your time and enjoy. Seating is somewhat limited so cozy is the vibe! Final Verdict The Stand is more than just a great place to grab a bite, it’s a celebration of local flavor and culture. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s a delicious, feel-good stop you won’t regret. ⸻ #SupportLocalAZ #SaltRiverEats #FryBreadFinds

This was a fun stop to try something new. This place is more of a shanty shack. For a Friday afternoon, there was no line but steady customers. It was about 99 degrees out, I had seen other reviews talk about extra hot sauce. I asked the employee, he got a fresh one out of the fridge. Both the chili's were great. The green one was a tad spicier. Be really hungry if you think you are going to eat one by yourself.

Food is authentic and delicious. Out in the middle of nowhere, but worth a drive. He had a beef and bean taco. I had a chili and beans on fry bread. Delicious!

I cannot believe I just found out about this place! It serves Indian Fry bread at an affordable price. They only take cash , so have some handy. We ordered Stand Taco and plain fry bread. The wait time was about 5 minutes , which flew by as we spoke with the owner who was very friendly. The food was great and the service the same. As we parked , we went to the wrong entrance , so just go around the corner of the stand . I will post pictures as reference. They open 12-6, however, don't go there last minute as they were pulling the sign away around 5.30 and they also run out of some dishes on the menu like for example the green and red chili. One dish is enough to fill you up , definitely worth any penny.
